Founder
Eight years in professional services operations, four of them inside accounting and financial services firms, from a two-person back office to a forty-person practice. Operations manager across accounting, financial planning, mortgage broking and tax. If you are weighing up an internal operations hire, that is the role I have held.
In one of those firms there was no practice manager and no operations person. The owner and I ran the back office through a partnership breakup and three acquisitions. I wrote the procedures and trained the people who came in behind me on them.
Firms break differently at different sizes, and the problem costing you the most is rarely the one irritating you the most. Telling those apart is the work, and I stay until your people are running on the systems.
